Five Senses of a Christian Man- Smell

Image
For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task ?           2 Corinthians 2:15,16 As we look upon all the five senses, we see that smell is the least important sense. All other senses are considered to be more important. But this sense of smell can help us to escape dangers in its early stages. For example, if anything is burning, people far away who cannot see or hear the burning thing will surely smell it, and they will be warned that something is burning. Unfortunately, humans have poor sense of smell. Hence, the Police force are forced to have Dogs in their squad to smell dangers and other stuffs.  At the blast of the trumpet he snorts, 'Aha! ' He catches the scent of battle from afar, the shout of commanders and the battle cry. Job 39:25 God is talking to Job about the horses He created. They...

Five senses of a Christian man - Touch

Image
We are familiar with the touch of midas, but are we familiar with the touch of a Christian man? First things first, Christian man's touch is not less than midas touch. Whatever he touches it truly turns to Gold, that is, he will find success in everything he does.  We touch things that we own. We don't touch things that we don't own. When God gives you his promise, He will make sure that you embrace it. Israelites heard about the promised land Canaan. Fathers spoke about this promise to their Children. Children saw the fruits of the promised land and ultimately Children embraced or touched the land flowing with milk and honey.  He is to present the Bull at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it before the Lord.   Leviticus 4:4  In our spiritual life, this sense has a great significance. When we touch we are claiming that we are a part of that thing. In the Old Testament, the man was supposed to la...

Five senses of a Christian man- taste the Word

Image
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.       Psalm 34:8 Hearing and seeing things do give us the perceptions of the things that we see but tasting is the only sense that can sense its true nature. Eve saw the fruit to be good and pleasing, but when she tasted it she felt it to be worth giving to her husband Adam. Things can often be deceptive, but tasting things can prove their true nature. That's why David say Taste and see that the Lord is good. He tastes as good as He looks like, not like the father of deception who pretends to be good but when tasted we get the bitterness inside him.  Samson and Jonathan are two great men who tasted honey from wrong place and at the wrong time. Samson was a Nazirite and he was not supposed to touch the dead or anything out of it, but still he tasted honey from the lion's dead body he devoured. Jonathan tasted honey when his father had commanded not to eat anything till they destroy t...

Five senses of a Christian man- Sight..

Image
One of the most used and trusted sense organ of a man is eyes. This sense of sight helps us to move through obstacles that could have stopped us. Our eyes sets the destination and our whole body responds to it. The only thing that can stop this sense is darkness. The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.  But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.  If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!       Mathew 6:22,23 In our Christian life, our eyes can either lead us to evilness or to God. It is up to us in which way we want go. Eve saw the fruit and found it pleasing to the eyes. David sinned because he saw what he was not supposed to see. Hence, eyes can lead a man to sin.  Ears hear promises and God makes sure that the eyes see the promise. When Abraham heard God's promise he left his father's household to see what God promised him. And God showed his ...

Five Senses of a Christian man- Ears hear..

Image
Humans do have five senses with which they try to rule this world. These five senses help them to understand nature and their surrounding and they react accordingly. In our Christian life, these senses can help us to stay closer to God or can drive us away from God.  'Hearing' is one of the senses with which we percieve our surrounding. Most of us would prefer calmer places and would hope to find rest for our ears, or soothing voices that can revive our ears from all the disturbance and  noises we heard in our entire life. This is what happens to a Christian man,  he likes to hear God's voice but the noises that the demon creates confuses him. Ultimately he closes his ears and in his closed ears he hears the noises that the devil created, and he chooses that.  Eve used all five senses to sin. She heard the Serpent, saw the fruit, touched it, must have smelled it, and ultimately  tasted it. Notable  point here is that hearing can lead us to sin, and can infl...
